OUCH!!

Well I finally went to the doctor today. I made an appointment with the foot specialist a couple weeks ago. I got there today and they told me they could not find my appointment. Great. I wait three years to go to the doctor and they lose my appointment. The receptionist called his nurse and they got me in right away. Huh? I was so releived. I waited for about five minutes listening to old people gripe about getting old and they called me in.
The doctor was really good. He looked at my foot and the other one had me stand and told me what was wrong. He could not believe I had not been in sooner. Working at Kraft standiong on cement floors... Appartently I have really high arches. So the foot does not absorb any of the shock. He said I must have an extremely high tolerance to pain because this was the worst he has ever seen. Ya right Phil.
So he got a bandaide out and put it on my foot and sent me on my way. I asked if that would fix it and he said yes. Now you know why I waited 3 years to see the doctor. Oh ya and the bill was...
Actually he said that this bandaide pad he put on would be a real good indicator of whether I can get orthotics. He said it looked like a real good candidate for them. So I need to wear this pad for three days with out getting it wet and come back next week to get some orthotics made hopefully. This is what I was hpoing for since a few people at work have them and say they really help. The whole keeping it dry for three days is going to suck since I have not bathed in 4 days already. I am really going to stink after a whole week. ;-)

Zander is staying healthy riding his Smart Cycle and eating Tostitos. Biking with one hand eating chips with the other. Good hand eye coordination and balance. LOL

UPDATE

It's all over. Favre's career, the Reagan years, the real estate boom. CRASH! All good things must end.

FAVRE

Here is what I did with the newpaper John gave me. I have 2 more from there and a couple of magazines to do yet. Dad wants the Man of the Year issue done and I have one too. Note the cool corner cuts on the mat. I should have done it on the green instead. It would have showed up better. Anyone think he is coming back next year??? He said he would in the Suzie Kolber interview last night. We can only hope.

UPDATE

Update.... 15 minutes later....the head fell off. stay tuned for more on this exciting story later in the day....

FIRE!!!!!

This is my latest project. Zander and I went to Mankato on Tuesday for a Menards run. I had wanted to pick up some fencing for the grape vine and a fire pit. We found the fire pit at Menards and some fertilizer. We could not find the fence there so we went to HD right next door. As we got out of the car the guy was throwing some brats on the grill mmm looked good. The fence posts were 10 feet long so they would not fit in the Metro. Bummer. Me and Z went to get a pop for the drive home and all they had in the machine was stupid water. GRRRR! We went inside and there was a lady setting up a picnic. She called it a contractors lunch. Potato salad chips pop... I'm like whats going on here... So I asked how much for a pop? You can have one she said. What a sweetheart. So me and Z headed home with our fire ring, fertilizer and free diet Pepsi. Here is Zander with our free pop. See how excited he is?!!

So on Wednesday and Thursday we laid out the new pit area and worked on digging it in and leveling the block. I really like the fire pit so I raised it up a little so the fire will be up a little higher. I think it looks better raised up. Lisa said "looks good" deadpan monotone. GEE thanks hun. Shouldn't it be in the ground more. Anyway the important thing is that I LOVE IT. Anytime you are in the area on a Saturday stop in cuz the pit will be a blazin'.

Last night it started to snow. Yes snow. It was coming down so hard I could barely see the road. We had about 2 inches on the ground when I went to bed. How cool is that. Snow in the end of April. So anyway, when we all got up in the morning I told the kids let's go out and make a snowman. You won't ever get to that this late in the spring again. The snow was sticky perfect. Nick couldn't resist and fired off a few snowballs. Here are the results of our efforts. Nice face Zander. It was pretty bright out.:-)
