my lovely wife

Lisa took Nick and Lexi to the volleyball game at MSU tonight again. Here's Lisa at her best.

Whopper

Today I took Zander and Nick to the ole fishin hole down by the river. It is very low so there is lots of shoreline to explore. Zander found lots and lots of seashells. OOOO look at this one. We heard many times. Nick found a toad that he gave to Zander. The froggy peed on Zander's hand. Oh ya, we or I fished a little too. First cast I got a BIG sturgon. We never had a picture last time we caught them so I ran home to get the camera. We caught 2 in an hour and one nice channel cat. Zander reeled in the second sturgon.

the break in

Last night I took Lisa out for our anniversary to Applebee's in New Ulm. Rose was volunteered to watcht the kids. Zach hasn't stayed away from us yet, so we will see how tonight goes.

I ordered the steak and Lisa had some noodle thing. My steak was actually cooked right. That never happens. We had a couple drinks and got home about 11. We had a really great time.

Lisa headed to the laptop and I went downstairs for a pop. The lights were all out downstairs. Odd. I walked over to the breaker and Lisa just got to the steps. She says whats going on? We head over to the breaker, and both of us freeze. There is a sound back in the laundry room by Lisa's stockpile. Fear grips both of us like a boa on a bunny. I am shaking so much my voice quivvers. "who's there?"

Nothing.

Who's there?!??!

Rustling...

Fear again, greater this time. Lisa is clutching my arm harder than she did when Nick was born. I look for something, anything I can use as a weapon. Brain freeze. Suddenly it hits me, I have a seal skinning knive from our 10th anniversary trip to Alaska in the cabinet by the Aquariums. It is razor sharp with a curved blade about 6 inches long and a handle you put your hand in. We walk over to the cabinet and I quietly grab it. Trembling. As we turn back to the laundry there is a loud noise as the intruder takes off. He is heading through the back closet to the bedroom. I take off after him. He is out the back door and down the hill before I can get him. I don't know why I chased him yet. Good thing I didn't catch him or I'd a skun 'im like a seal on an iceberg.

I turn back and run to Lisa. She is trembling in fear. I pull her close and tell her he is gone, it is alright. We hold each other for what seemed like an hour.

We go over to the breaker box and turn the power back on. Lights. YES!!!. We look around to see if anything is missing. First thing we see is the safe. It is still there but damaged. Lisa walks over and tries it. It still works even with all the damage from the prybar. Next we check all of our bill money... GONE. All our cash is gone. We check the rest of the house... Everything seems in order. As I am walking upstairs I glance up and notice my TIVO is gone. Son of a Bitch. Not my TIVO. No more Billy Bob and Bad Santa. No more Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase. Not my TIVO.
I jerk awake. What a bad dream.
:-)

Go Lisa Go

Lisa and Nick got up at three something this morning to go to a flea market in Anonondale. Lisa said they got there at about six and it was full of dealers already. She and about 20 others had to set up outside the gate. As of last call she has sold about half her stuff. Nick sold 4 earbuds and an old Nintendo. He also spent some money on baseball cards. Like father like son I guess. The sale goes till 2 if they stay that long. Then they are stopping at Richters party at the golf course in Winthrop. Tonight is the big River Blast in New Ulm. I was going to camp with Nick but there is no way I can do it now with my back. Maybe he can stay with Eric tonight. They are camping out too.

OHHH the pain!!!

After three days on my new job my back started to hurt a little. It has gotten progressively worse the next 2 days. I am now confined to the couch with my (Lisa's)laptop and the remote. The kids fend for themselves and get me what I need from the fridge.

Congrats to me

I just got a new job at work. I am now the ADCO operator in the snacks room. It is about a buck an hour more so that will help with the budget.
